Hurtigruten extends photography sail with Darren Perkell

Hurtigruten has declared collaboration with Darren Perkell, a wildlife and environmental photographer, on an Arctic sail along the northern coast of Greenland leaving 13th June.

Perkell would offer people photography seminars, workshops, one-on-one instruction as well as location shoots made to amp up guests’ vacation snaps.

Rates begin from US$ 7195 for each person, double occupancy that represents a savings of over US$ 4000 each passenger off daily charges.

The itinerary starts with chartered transfers from Reykjavic Airport, Iceland to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, forty kilometer from Greenland Ice Cap. From that point, guests board MS Fram explorer ship that would sail along the northwestern coast of Greenland. During the tour, guests would have the scope to dog-sled, kayak, hike and other things, with everyday landings in villages and towns that dot the coast.

Darren Perkell is a pro photographers and cinematographers organizations member including Nikon Professional Services, The Explorers Club and International Cinematographers Guild. Also he is a regular contributor to monthly photographers salon at New Yorks School for Visual Arts and has toured exhaustively across the High Arctic.

Meanwhile, The Gurdian has announced their GuardianWitness photography contest recently. The winning snapshot will be exhibited in an end-of-year exhibit in foyer gallery at Guardians office in London.

The monthly winners would be entered for top prize  a magnificent 4-night trip to Svrbyn Lodge and the Aurora Safari Camp, thanks to Artisan Travel. The entrants have to be from UK. One has to upload highest possible resolution picture via GuardianWitness.
